Newark First Responders Rescue Man From Passaic River: Police

A 23-year-old man was rescued after falling into the Passaic River in Newark on Saturday, Nov. 2, authorities said.

At 10:22 p.m., first responders went to the Passaic River at Jersey Street and Raymond Boulevard on a call of a man in the water, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The victim was safely rescued and transported to University Hospital for treatment, Fragé said.

 He is reportedly in stable condition, Fragé said.
